Morning Camp: Phoenix Division 1 & 2 K*bot Robotic Championships Fee $81.00
June 16-20, 2008 9-12 Noon / (32 students age 7-15) at Goelet A. C. Beuf Community Center If you like to build and compete with K誰EX this is the camp for you. This will be the ninth year of this exciting K*bot championship competition in the United States and the second year for the City Of Phoenix. First time and veteran students like the 2003 Division 1 K*bot World Champion Mike McPherson from Phoenix, Arizona (in the photo to the left) will build two-wheel drive Robotic K*bots at this robotic competition. Each student will have their own pit area and parts department to construct and operate their own competition K*bot. Students will compete for the first ever Phoenix Division 1 K*bot Championships on the last day and will qualify for the (made from K誰EX parts) 2008 K*bot World Championships to be held at the City Of Las Vegas Veterans Memorial Leisure Services Center on July 14-18, 2008. Several students in this camp will also build a four-wheel drive K*bot for the Division 2 regional K*bot competition. All students will have their own pit area and parts department to construct and operate their own competition K*bot. These students will compete for a 2008 Phoenix Division 2 K*bot Championship. Our goal at these worldwide K*bot competitions is to teach students engineering principles such as Torque, traction, gearing mechanisms and center of gravity, as well as robotic design, logistics and construction skills to stimulate scientific creativity and imagination using K'NEX Industries parts, as we enhance students basic robotic design and technical skills.
Afternoon Camp: Phoenix Division 3 & M K*bot Robotic Championships Fee $81.00
June 16-20, 2008 1-4 PM (32 students age 8-16) at Goelet A. C. Beuf Community Center If you like to build and compete with computerized K誰EX robotics this is the camp for you. First time and veteran Phoenix students will build from K誰EX parts a computer driven remote control two motor Division 3 Ravage K*bot helping them understand engineering principles such as Torque, traction, gearing mechanisms and center of gravity, as well as robotic design, logistics and construction skills to stimulate scientific creativity and imagination. Each student will have their own pit area and parts department to construct and operate their own competition K*bot. Students at this camp will qualify for the 2008 K*bot World Championships to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 14-18, 2008.
Then get ready for Division M K*bots from Europe. These K*bots are non-motorized units which are hand operated during the competition. The Europeans invented this fast-paced Division M which involves learning essential simple machines along with construction and competition skills to win in this division. Some students in this afternoon camp may want to build one of these hand- operated non-motorized Division M units. Students at this camp will qualify for the (made from K誰EX parts) 2008 K*bot World Championships to be held at the City Of Las Vegas Veterans Memorial Leisure Services Center on July 14-18, 2008.
Your instructor for the morning and afternoon K*bot camps is Thomas Vermersch from Las Vegas, Nevada. Instruction, snack, and materials fee is included in the $81.00 fee per student per Camp.
(If you sign up one child for both camps it is only $150.00. You save $12.00, reducing each camp to only $75.00 per camp)
