 Morning Session Las Vegas Division 1 & 2 (K'NEX) K*bot Championships

July 7-11, 2008 9-12 Noon / (several instructors for 50 students age 7-15) If you like to have robotic fun, invent new designs and build with K"NEX parts, then each day test what you have constructed thru competition with other K誰EX students throughout the Valley this is the camp for you. This will be the sixth year of this very popular and exciting Regional K*bot championship Camp And Competition at the City Of Las Vegas Veterans Memorial Leisure Services Center. First time and veteran students alike will share their morning camp excitement for building a Division 1 two-wheel drive as well as a Division 2 four-wheel drive K*bot for competition through the week and for the Division 1 & 2 Las Vegas K*bot Championships on Friday morning (special prizes for the winners). Each student will have their own pit area and parts department to construct and operate their own competition K*bot. Our K*bot design instructors will work carefully with each student to make sure they learn as much as possible as they are having fun at this camp. Students who attend this camp will also qualify for the (made from K誰EX parts) 2008 K*bot World Championships to be held at the City Of Las Vegas Veterans Memorial Leisure Services Center on July 14-18, 2008. Our goal at these worldwide K*bot robotic competitions is to teach students engineering principles such as Torque, traction, gearing mechanisms and center of gravity, as well as robotic design, logistics and construction skills to stimulate scientific creativity and imagination using K'NEX Industries parts, as we enhance students basic robotic design and technical skills. Are you ready to have a lot of fun and learn at the same time? Please do not forget to bring your lunch as we watch a "feature movie" on our 153 inch screen.

Afternoon Session: Las Vegas Division 3 & M (K誰EX) K*bot Championship Camp

July 7-11, 2008 1-4 PM / (several instructors for 50 students age 7-15) Even though you are expected to build a Division 1 and a Division 2 K*bot in the morning camp you have several options in the afternoon camp. If you are age 9 or older you might like to build and compete with the remote controlled Division 3 K誰EX K*bot. First time and veteran students will build from K誰EX parts a remote controlled remote control two motor Division 3 K*bot helping them understand computer robotic skills, engineering principals such as Torque, traction, gearing mechanisms and center of gravity, as well as robotic design, logistics and construction skills to stimulate scientific creativity and imagination. Each student will have their own pit area and parts department to construct and operate their own competition K*bot. All students at this camp will qualify for the 2008 K*bot World Championships (if registration spaces remain open) to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 14-18, 2008. If you are 7 and 8 years old you might want to help build a monster size 50,000 piece K誰EX "Imaginary high-rise Las Vegas Strip Casino". This Casino will rock with remote control elevators, escalators, roller coasters, and more.. Other afternoon students might select the Division M K*bots from Europe. These K*bots are fast-paced non-motorized units which are hand operated during the competition. The Europeans invented this fast- paced division which involves K*bot construction and competition skills to win in this division. Most students in the afternoon camp will compete in only one Division each day to place in the finals on Friday when a Division 3 and M Las Vegas champion will be crowned (special prizes to be announced) . All KNEX K*bot students in the afternoon will have an added treat as students will also construct a monster size 50,000 piece K誰EX "Imaginary high-rise Las Vegas Strip Casino". This Casino will rock with remote control elevators, escalators, roller coasters, and more.

Your instructor for this full day science camp is Tom Vermersch owner of Science Materials Fair Of Nevada. All students must attend both sessions. Instruction, snack and materials fee is only $150.00 total (Ages 7-15)
